Rams tame Lions, win third straight dual

Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – Cornell's women's tennis team ran their winning streak up to three in a row Sunday morning thanks to a 5-2 decision over Piedmont University. The Lions had appeared in the national rankings a season ago in the top 75. 

Cornell (13-3) dropped the doubles point to start the dual. No. 1 tandem of Michaela Clark & Mac Graves cruised over their opponents 6-0. 

In singles. the Rams turned things around and won five of the six matches. Clark ran through her opponent at No. 1, 6-1 6-0. Tansy Graves picked up a victory at No. 3, 6-2 7-5, followed by a 6-2 7-5 win by Jenna Benkufsky at No. 5. 

Mac Graves put the Rams on top for the clinch with a come from behind win at No. 2, 7-5 6-3. Audrey Small then closed things out 6-0 7-5 at No. 4. 

Clark and Mac Graves both enjoyed a 2-0 day individually. 
     
Coming up – The Rams take the court for a double header tomorrow against the University of Northwestern (MN) and Carthage College.
