MELBOURNE, FL – In game two Sunday the Rams showed grit in an extra inning 3-2 win over UW-Superior at Space Coast Complex. In the opener Cornell defeated Fitchburg State 11-0, in 5 innings.
In the bottom of the eighth with two outs and runners on first and second senior
Monet Roelle hit a line drive to center field that scored
Brianna Risley from second to secure the walk-off win over the Jackets (5-5).
In the top of the eighth Risley caught a line drive at second base and threw over to Roelle at third to double up the Jackets lead runner, helping to secure the opportunity for the heroics in the bottom half of inning.
The Rams (4-0) out hit UW-Superior 13-11.
Linnea Drever led the way with three hits, including a double.

Lauren Summers, Risley and Roelle each had two. Roelle had two RBIs.
Lexi Ellermeier picked up the win for the Rams, giving up no runs on nine hits. Ellermeier struck out five Jackets.
In game one,
Corrin Kennedy continued her hot start to the spring going 4-of-4, with a home run and double. She scored three runs and knocked in four more.
Cornell out hit the Falcons (0-2), 14-2.
Alexa Corona, Drever and
Brooke Furman all added two hits each for the Rams.
Six different Rams hit a double off Falcon's pitching. Corona, Kennedy, Drever,
Elise Oleson, Summers and Roelle each legged out an extra base hit.
Corona, Drever, Roelle and Furman each scored twice for the Rams. Corona added three RBIs and Furman two.
Senior
Daelynn Rhoades pitched the complete game shutout, giving up only two hits while striking out six Falcon batters. Rhoades didn't give up a walk and only faced 16 batters.
Coming up – Rams continue their spring break trip in Melbourne, FL with two games on Monday. They face Franciscan at 1:30 pm and Wisconsin Lutheran at 3:45 pm.
