RICHMOND, Ind. – A dominant second half propelled Cornell's men's lacrosse team to a 15-5 road win over Earlham Tuesday at Darrell Beane Stadium.
The Rams (2-1) outscored the Quakers 13-2 over the final 31 minutes and had nine players record a goal in the contest.
Cornell scored twice in the final 41 seconds of the first half to take a 4-3 lead into the break. The Rams took total control from there, fueled by three second-half goals each from freshman
Alexander Dukatz and sophomore
Kayden Kuan.
Junior
Charley Kobets led Cornell's attack with eight points, including two goals. He delivered five of his career-high six assists in the second half.
Xavier Higgins accounted for two goals and three assists.
Caden Lynch,
Brandon Evilsizer,
Kaden Weaver,
Brandon Warnke and
Soren Williams all scored once for the Rams, who held a commanding 60-24 advantage in shots and a 33-12 edge in ground balls.
Sophomore
Ben Wojewski won 18-of-22 faceoffs and retrieved a team-high seven ground balls. Goalie
Nathan Diveley posted 13 saves in a complete-game victory.
